CM Honahar Merit Scholarship
Punjab’s Chief Minister, Ms. Maryam Nawaz, has inaugurated the Honahar Merit Scholarship Program to support students with outstanding academic records in Punjab. This initiative aims to provide full scholarships to exceptional students, covering all their tuition fees for higher education.
The program has initially set to offer 4000 scholarships, but it has now expanded to 25000 scholarships to benefit more students. Ms. Maryam Nawaz highlighted that these scholarships will help students improve their academic performance and contribute to the nation’s development.
Eligibility Criteria for the Honahar Merit Scholarship
The Honahar Merit Scholarship Program is accessible to students from government and specific Punjab private institutions. According to Ms. Maryam Nawaz, students from government institutions are automatically eligible. While those from eight designated private universities can apply based on merit.
This program is exclusive to students residing in Punjab. Applicants from other provinces are not eligible. To qualify for the scholarship, students must have completed a B.S.C. degree and demonstrated exceptional academic performance.

Development of New Universities in Punjab
Chief Minister Ms. Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced plans to establish new universities in Punjab. These institutions will be established in eight districts, beginning with Jhelum, Vehari, and Bahawalnagar. This project aims to increase access to higher education across the province.
